Beauty Talk: bareMinerals//BARESKIN

April 27, 2014

The best complement to any outfit is a fresh face. I've been a BareMinerals junkie for almost 10 years - pretty much since I started wearing makeup. On  most days I wear a tinted moisturizer. I reserve makeup for events, nights out or days I really really need it. While I've briefly strayed a couple of times and tried cream and liquid foundations by other prestige and high end brands,  nothing could replace their powder formulas. Nothing came close to the natural look and feel of their products. I believe in great skincare and aiming to look good without makeup, so their whole philosophy of improving skin over time rather than just masking it is exactly what I live by. I feel like my skin has grown up with Bareminerals. I started out with their original foundation, then graduated to their Ready line of pressed powders in my late 20's - when I felt hydration was more of a factor. And now I'm 30. Finally crossed over to using liquid foundation - because I waited till the perfect one came along.

I've been using this for almost two weeks now, and I couldn't be more thrilled! It is light, super natural and just looks like beautiful BareSkin. The finish is satiny and just right, not too matte. Plus- this photographs really really well.  As always, their shade range is excellent, and in one go I got my perfect match - Bare Nude. The brush is a dream and applies the makeup perfectly. As with all their products, a little goes a long long way. I get excited and look forward to getting ready because application is easy, quick, and feels like a spa treatment. The formula has brightening properties and SPF plus no parabens, oil, or silicone. Yup. Pure perfection in a little bottle. BareMinerals is releasing this wonder makeup next week, available at Sephora.

Style File: Old Navy

April 24, 2014

Old Navy has always been a fave of mine for simple and classic closet staples. I'm all about chic bargain finds that others often mistake as much much pricier than they really are. Thanks to Old Navy, I've scored the perfect slouchy white pant for a steal. These will be on repeat this spring/summer, paired with silky tops  and sandals or sweaters and ballet flats for when the temperature starts to drop. For today's event I paired them with a striped tee from their Rock Your Blues collection, simple pumps, and a relaxed trench for a  casual yet polished look.

Thanks so much for dropping by, specially those of you that came out to the Rock Your Blues event! It was so great meeting you all.

Special thanks to Jessica for snapping these photos!
