Current essentials for everyday.

  • Finally bit the bullet and purchased these mules last year. My previous pair (seen here) got so much wear that I decided these Gucci ones would be a great investment. With regards to fit — they are pretty true to size. I've read some reviews that mentioned to size up. However, I have narrow feet and my regular size worked perfectly.

  • I've had this Modern Citizen sweater for over a year now, and it's definitely been a hero piece in my wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down effortlessly and works with everything. The double-faced cashmere blend is substantial and flattering.

  • This Mansur Gavriel bag fits all my daily essentials, looks polished and I appreciate the practicality of a cross-body strap. I have and love the backpack and bucket bag, and prefer the Saffiano leather for its durability.

  • I scored this AYR coat (it's been on my wishlist for about a year!) during their Cyber Monday sale. I've been pairing it with pretty much every outfit —it's the perfect length, and I love the way it drapes and flows.

  • If you know me, I've been on the hunt for a great pair of classic denim — something between the "mom" jean and a skinny. These ReDone originals are exactly what I was looking for. High rise, cropped length and non-stretch!

I hope you have a great week ahead! Thanks for dropping by!

A Minimal Holiday

January 22, 2017

This past holiday's theme: give more, do more — with less. We gathered with family and stressed the importance of being present, of keeping things simple yet more meaningful. Definitely a mantra I'd like to live by all-year round. We kept presents at a minimum and donated to our favorite charities.

Entertaining Highlights:

  • Styling my first cheese board — a huge hit (this guide came in handy)! I am not a gourmet cook, but I think I've found my place in the kitchen.
  • Finally tackling a DIY project I've had lined up for over a year — I spray painted a cart I picked up on the side of the road. It served as our hot chocolate bar.
  • Transforming our family room into a dining hall for our extended family.
  • Using what I already have on hand. I've come to realize that I truly value pieces that have an inherent ease, handcrafted quality and timeless aesthetic — pieces that I can use daily and blend function with form. I didn't purchase a single new decorative item this holiday, instead I brought out our simple, everyday serveware and dinnerware and let them shine. Rearranging furniture and repurposing items (like using ornaments as table top decor) gave our home a fresh holiday look without spending a dime.

Most of our time off over the holidays was spent decluttering and organizing our home. It felt great to finally tackle a huge part of my to-do list. There's nothing like getting rid of all the excess, taking note of the things that add value to your life and starting fresh. I'm looking forward to a meaningful new year filled with the people and moments that matter most.

I hope you're having a great start to the year! Thanks for dropping by.

Lake Tahoe

Hello 2017. Starting this year off with a few snaps from our trip to Lake Tahoe over Thanksgiving weekend. San Francisco is experiencing the most frigid and rainy January. I'd much rather be back in Tahoe with the snow, enjoying some cozy indoor time at the Coachman Hotel.  We typically plan our getaways far in advance. However, this was a much-needed and thoroughly enjoyable spontaneous escape. Highlights: simply lounging in and enjoying the complimentary breakfast (best waffles!), s'mores and board games! We arrived during the season's first snow fall and it was such a treat for our little one.

I hope you are having a great start to the new year! Thank you for visiting.
