The Apartment by The Line — L.A.

When in Los Angeles, a trip to Melrose is always on the agenda. Coffee or Tea at Alfred. Sweet treats at Compartes. A little retail therapy at Isabel Marant, The Row, and Violet Grey — to name a few. Late last year my favorite lifestyle boutique joined the mix. To say I'm obsessed with The Line is an understatement (talked about that here a few years ago) . I recently made my way down to L.A. and finally dropped by their offline boutique The Apartment by The Line

Honey, we're home. We're moving in.

This retail concept effortlessly combines fashion, art and interiors in an intimate and thoughtful setting —offering refined essentials for the luxe minimalist.  Mid-Century meets California Casual is how I'd like to describe it. Wonderfully curated and expertly styled, you'll surely leave inspired to toss all your belongings and buy everything in sight. From the toothpaste to linens, to the art and dinnerware..... you'll want the whole package. Take a little tour and shop pieces inspired by The Line:

Stepping a little out of my comfort zone! I feel that the essence of elegance lies in knowing that there is a time and a place, and a sensible way to bare it all.  Because I was feeling adventurous, and because.......the heat — our recent trip to the Riviera Maya proved to be the perfect time to experiment with this jumpsuit.

It's not exactly risqué considering the long hemline and relaxed silhouette, but it's definitely a lot for me personally — with the plunging v-neck, exposed sides and daring back. I wore it as a cover-up,  layered over my swimsuits and occasionally with a cropped tee. I figure I'll get a lot of mileage by pairing it with sweaters and booties during the fall!

Full disclosure: this requires an insane amount of double-sided tape.

Forever21 jumpsuit (currently sold out), similar version in black. Madewell slides. Celine Sunglasses.

An effortless vacation ensemble inspired by the dramatic silhouettes and feminine details in Johanna Ortiz' designs. Can't get enough of linen and summer's signature print — stripes.

Zara top (similar here). Zara pants (splurge alternative in white, affordable option). Madewell flats. Celine sunglasses.
