My style has evolved over the years. Sartorial mishaps, lifestyle changes, my mood, motherhood, age, body insecurities..... these all affect how I want to dress.  While I like to dip my toes into trends, I prefer to tread cautiously. There's comfort in my core aesthetic of the simple yet special, timeless yet current. However, change excites me and I enjoy experimenting. I'll filter anything that gives me horrible grade school flashbacks, camel toes, and whatever adds a completely unnecessary 15 lbs to my frame.

Since my color palette pretty much stays the same, I like to refresh my looks through silhouettes and unique details. Most of the time it only takes one stand-out item to re-do an entire wardrobe. For tops it could be an interesting tie detail, neckline or sleeve construction. For bottoms its hemlines and the shape or cut. Lately I've been eyeing mom jeans and the denim trend of 2016 - the kick flare, or cropped flare.

After realizing that they are extremely figure flattering, pairs effortlessly with flats or sneakers, and can be dressed up or down..... I ordered my first pair.  According to WhoWhatWear, they should fall right at the ankle and fraying should be kept at the hemline.  I'll be breaking these in for the next few days and will hopefully get to sneak in some outfit shots this weekend.

There are endless styling options, but I'm eager to pair these with my go-to favorites: slim fitting long sleeve tees or sweaters, block-heeled sandals, and a classic coat.

I've been extremely busy adjusting to my new schedule and work load. I want to thank you for all the continued support despite these long breaks between posts! Still trying to find my rhythm here, but very happy to have you join me on this journey.
