I'm without a doubt, a creature of comfort. No matter how hard I try to break the routine, I fall back into what I know and love. It's always such a challenge for me to decode the trends and filter what goes into my closet. I'm inspired by the colors, drama, volume and eclectic vibes currently permeating the streets. However, I know that my personal wardrobe ultimately depends on comfort and versatility. If I don't feel confident, if I don't feel like myself in it — then it's not for me. Style over trends, always.
Finding that balance between what's classic yet current is what I constantly strive for. How can I make a simple outfit look special? I've discovered ways to inject an elevated aesthetic, and it all boils down to the details — special materials, unique finishes and playing with proportion.
- My go-to winter uniform: statement coat, crisp top, classic denim, and comfortable boots. A formula that never fails. To add a little punch to the overall look, I picked one "dramatic" item as a focal point — these simple yet statement-making snakeskin boots. Not only are they on-trend and comfortable (I wore them for 8 hours straight walking around NYC, and I am a flats kind of girl), they are extremely flattering. They also pair well with cropped trousers and skirts.
- A classic wrap coat looks extra refined when it comes in a longline silhouette and a luxurious Italian material that moves beautifully. This one by AYR is definitely my favorite and most flattering coat.
- Recent HM sale find — this crisp poplin blouse! I love the collar detail and the elongated cuffs. Currently on the hunt for a simple, chunky choker to layer over it.
- These jeans are the most comfortable ones I've ever owned. Extremely flattering high-rise, and super soft. The classic dark hue makes it a closet staple.
How are you injecting the current trends into your own wardrobe? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for dropping by.
